VANCOUVER, Canada (Jan 15, 2015) – Icebreaker, the New Zealand-based brand that pioneered merino wool apparel for the outdoor industry, today announced that Bill Redford will join the brand as National Sales Manager for Canada. Bill will oversee the entire Canadian wholesale and corporate sales team, reporting into Canadian General Manager Justin Walford.
“I’m thrilled that Bill has decided to add his considerable experience and talent to our team in Canada,” says Justin. “Bill has strong relationships in the industry, a win-win commercial mindset that will complement our current sales programs, and the drive to mentor and lead our superb sales force across the country. I’m confident that Bill will enable Icebreaker to continue its strong double-digit growth in the Canadian market.”
Bill brings over 20 years of sales leadership experience to Icebreaker, and a track record of exceptional sales performance. He was most recently Director of Sales at Fox Canada, and has previously served as Director of Sales, Canada for both Adidas-Salomon and Nike. He built the Quiksilver subsidiary from the ground-up, hiring a strong team of 70 employees and achieving more than $120M in annual sales during his tenure.
“I’m so energized to be joining the Icebreaker family! Not only do I get to join a premium global brand, widely recognized as an industry leader here in Canada, but I get to become part of an organization that cares about its people, its partners, and its sustainability,” says Bill. “Those values align with my own personal beliefs, and I cannot wait to begin supporting Icebreaker’s brand in Canada with the terrific team already on the ground.”
