Oakley Named Official Eyewear Partner of Whistler Blackcomb

Whistler Blackcomb announced yesterday a three-year retail and marketing alliance with Oakley. The multi-faceted agreement will put Oakley products on a large number of resort employee ambassadors involved with Whistler Blackcomb Snow School, the retail division and Whistler Heli-Skiing. The partnership will also see a variety of Oakley brand and marketing touch points throughout the  Whistler Blackcomb Resort  both on the mountain and in Whistler Blackcomb’s retail shops in the village, along with a major digital asset that will dynamically recommend the correct eyewear for the day’s conditions.

“We are excited to bring Oakley on board as our newest corporate partner,” says Stuart Rempel, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Whistler Blackcomb. “The Oakley brand is synonymous with high performance eyewear which is critical for an optimal guest experience at Whistler Blackcomb whether you are skiing, riding or downhill mountain biking on our mountains.”

“It is an honor to be an official partner of Whistler Blackcomb. We are excited to share our passion for winter and summer sports with such an iconic resort,” said Alexandre Langevin, Oakley Canada Marketing Director. “Whistler Blackcomb is key in the development of so many Oakley international athletes. Our objective is to provide the best brand experience to consumers in this sporting mecca.”

“Oakley and Whistler Blackcomb have been an integral part of the evolution of my career,” said Sean Pettit, Professional Skier. “I’m so stoked to see the two combine their heritage and culture and, of course, the future endeavors that lie ahead.”

As part of the new partnership Oakley will become involved with grassroots events including rail jams and park sessions. They will also partner with multiple day camps at the resort.
